Meet Tora, an adventurous Scottish Straight feline who has a knack for exploring the world with her owner, David Durst. Together, they traverse the vast expanse of the United States in their trusty truck, with Tora reveling in the joys of occupying the coveted passenger seat. At just one year old, Tora has already amassed quite the travel log, and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
At the age of only 2 months old, Tora began her exciting outdoor escapades with her human companion. Their travels have taken them to 43 different states across the US, and all of their wonderful moments have been shared on Tora The Trucker Cat’s Instagram page, boasting over 14,000 followers.
According to David, he had a hard time finding a cat since adoption agencies weren’t comfortable with the idea of a kitten living in a truck. This made him believe that owning a cat wasn’t possible until a breeder introduced him to Tora by sending a photo. As soon as he saw the picture, he knew he had found the perfect travel companion he had been searching for.
When Tora was only eight weeks old, we brought her along on our road trip just a few days later. It’s amazing how brave she was at such a young age, and she adapted to the truck right away. Tora enjoyed exploring the new sights and taking in the scenery through the window. It was an immediate connection between us and our little feline friend.
According to David, Tora is an adventure-loving cat who enjoys exploring new places, especially in bustling cities. Whether it’s a hike through the woods or a stroll along city streets, Tora is always up for an escapade. David also mentioned that Tora’s litter box is located in the sleeper of their truck, and they make sure to clean it out twice every day. He humorously remarked that this is the most common question they receive.
David is in awe of the amount of affection that Tora receives on social media, and he frequently shares their escapades on Instagram. Together with his ideal partner Tora, he intends to explore the remaining five continental states before the year comes to a close.
