“Bully: The Oldest Rescue Dog Turns 23 and Celebrates with a Special Party”

Dogs, unfortunately, have a shorter lifespan than humans. However, there are some dogs that are fortunate enough to live a good, long life. Every birthday is significant once a dog enters their senior years. Recently, a rescue dog named Bully celebrated his 23rd birthday which is an incredible age for a dog. The Mr. Mo Project, a senior dog rescue, took in Bully when he was 21 years old. This was a result of his elderly owner no longer being able to care for him. Chihuahua Bully has had a great and long life.

As dogs grow older, it becomes harder for them to adapt to new environments. For Bully, or Bobo as he is fondly known, this was particularly true given his advanced age – he is considered a “super senior” dog in human years, and has outlived the typical lifespan of Chihuahuas. Despite these challenges, however, Bully has managed to settle into his new home well after spending two years in a rescue center. With time, he has managed to thrive and continues to do so.

Meet Bully, the oldest resident of a rescue run by Chris Hughes. The rescue center celebrated its 23rd birthday recently, and they made sure to celebrate it in style. Bully is described as feisty, naughty, sweet, independent, gentle, and calm. Even at his old age, he still tries to push around one of the Chihuahuas in the center.

Bully was born on April 5, 1999, making him one of the few dogs still alive who has crossed two millenniums. It’s an incredible feat that few dogs can dream of achieving. Despite his grand age, he prefers a more low-key celebration. According to a Facebook post, the rescue center ensured that he had a memorable 23rd birthday.

According to Hughes, they gave a soft biscuit to the dog with few teeth which made him happy. He also mentioned that the dog loves sleeping, so it is considered the best gift for him. Mr. Mo Project was initiated by Chris Hughes and his wife Mariesa to rescue senior dogs. They were inspired by a 12-year-old dog named Moses who was surrendered for being old. It is reported that the couple has spent more than $55,000 to convert their home into a sanctuary for senior dogs. They did this to ensure that these neglected animals have a secure and caring place where they can spend their last years.

Chris from The Mr. Mo Project shared with Insider that both he and his partner have full-time jobs aside from their work with the organization. They view it as a labor of love and direct all their funds towards the project. It’s a joyous occasion as Bully turns 23 years old, an amazing feat for any dog.
