The team at Bali Paws has successfully rescued numerous animals that were suffering from abuse. It is heartwarming to witness these lovable dogs flourish in their forever homes, making all the hard work and dedication of the rescue workers worthwhile!
One day, a member of their team stumbled upon a tiny puppy without any hair. The poor thing had been deserted and was found hiding in a dog house outside a property. Even though they were experienced in rescuing animals, the sight of the pup’s condition left them stunned. The little one was suffering from an extreme case of mange that had left her bald and in excruciating pain. Additionally, she also had an infection in one of her eyes.
According to Desi, who works as a rescuer, the unfortunate girl had been trapped in a cage all her life, forced to breed without any respite. When she was no longer attractive and healthy, her captors threw her out on the streets. Fortunately, Desi managed to coax the girl out of hiding and showered her with all the affection and care she had been deprived of for so long.
Desi shared that the girl appeared incredibly composed from the moment she picked her up. She believed that the girl must have sensed her good intentions and knew that she wouldn’t cause her any harm.
After finding a name for the dog, Lucy Ray, her rescuers noticed a transformation in her personality. Described as “extremely sweet” and always wanting to cuddle, Lucy Ray’s true nature emerged once her physical issues were taken care of. Over the course of seven weeks, she improved in health and gained weight, while also learning how to walk on grass and interacting with other dogs. The experience gave her a taste of what it feels like to be loved and have a home.
The prior experience served as a great foundation for Bali Paws to find a permanent home for the dog in Centreville, Virginia. The moment Matt and Brianna caught sight of Lucy Ray’s pictures and heard her story, they were smitten and knew they had to adopt her into their family. It was love at first sight when they finally met the little dog.
Brianna shared that she and her partner were deeply in love with Lucy Ray. They found her to be extremely cute and lovable. It felt like she had instantly become a part of their lives and family. Now, Lucy Ray has become one of the most pampered dogs in the world. Her Instagram portrays how she left the streets of Bali to enjoy a luxurious life on comfortable beddings. She seems to be living her best life!
Matt expressed that their furry friend demonstrates her affection towards them, and they respond with equal love and appreciation for her. Brianna mentioned that they are always surprised by their pet’s capacity to forgive and forget her past traumas. She finds it amazing that despite everything she has been through, their pet remains affectionate, caring, and trusting towards them.
